Streamlining findability
Company: Glassdoor
Role: Product Designer
Timeline: November 2022 - July 2023
Navigation works as the foundation for which the entire Glassdoor product is built on. Ensuring a lean structure enables streamlining findability.
Developing architecture
My first project with Glassdoor was focused on improving the global navigation structure while aligning it to the new visual language and creating space for the addition of Community. Using a fact-based approach, I modeled out the types of content Glassdoor had and their relatedness. This helped create an understanding of how to surface content to users. This aligned with prior research done around job users preferences, which surfaced how users identified different terminology. Then, I referenced click through rates for all categories currently displayed on global navigation.
Based on this, I proposed a new navigation that provided a much more simplified UI.
Building interactions
I expanded the global navigation to support complex, “sticky” interactions, collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand how different use cases behave across web and app. This ensured the navigation worked seamlessly for a variety of user flows while maintaining consistency and usability across platforms.

Establishing patterns
I led a sitewide audit of filter and search patterns across web and app, onboarding and overseeing another design with this audit project. Based on the audit, I tested key use cases, identified constraints, and developed reusable patterns for filters and search. These patterns were then implemented across the product, improving consistency, usability, and scalability across platforms.
